DESCRIPTION/FEATURES:
Aqua Mix Aqua Stain is a concentrated translucent stain
designed to change the color and enhance the natural texture of
porous adobe clay tile. Aqua Stain for Saltillo is available in five
designer colors: Adobe Red, Fresco Peach, Piso Blanco, Spanish
Oak and Terra Cotta. May also be used as a pre-grout coating
to protect porous adobe tile from grout staining when used a
minimum of 2 hours before grouting. Allows moisture vapor
transmission.
USES:
• Saltillo, and other high porosity Adobe clay tile
• Effective for interior and exterior applications
METHOD OF APPLICATION:
1) Read entire label before using
2) SHAKE WELL before using
3) TEST A SMALL AREA according to application instructions,
with a 24-hour cure time to determine desired results
4) Allow new installations to cure 24 hours before applying Aqua
Stain for Saltillo
5) Surface must be clean and free of existing sealers or coatings
6) Aqua Stain may be used undiluted if a darker stain is desired or
diluted with up to 8 parts water for lighter, more translucent
stain
7) Pre-dampen tiles with water. Select a small, manageable area of
4 to 6 sq. ft. (.35 m2 to .55 m2) and apply Aqua Stain for Saltillo
with a dense sponge or lint free cotton towel from a shallow
dish. For best results, apply to individual tiles by hand. Rub into
the tile in a circular motion using as much or as little stain as
needed to achieve the desired appearance from the test area.
8) If too much stain is applied or streaking occurs, immediately
rework the area with a clean, damp sponge or towel and simply
rub out the area using small amounts of water
9) For both interior and exterior applications, use Aqua Mix Seal
& Finish Low Sheen to seal, protect the color, and provide a
durable low-sheen finish. If used on an interior application, and
a high-sheen finish is desired, apply Aqua Mix Floor Shine &
Hardener over the Seal & Finish Low Sheen.
10) Clean applicator tools with water after each use.
CURE TIME:
Allow a 24-hour drying time before applying Aqua Mix sealers.
LIMITATIONS:
Previously applied sealers must be removed as Aqua Stain must
penetrate into porous tile. Aqua Mix Sealer & Adhesive Remover is
recommended to remove existing sealers.
HANDLING AND STORAGE:
• Close container after each use
• Store in original container only
• For best results, do not store in direct sunlight or in
temperatures above 110º F (43º C)
• Use in temperatures between 50º F and 80º F (10º C and 27º C)
• Unused, stored product is freeze-thaw stable
CAUTION:
• KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN
• May be harmful if swallowed
• Do not take internally
• Avoid contact with eyes
• Rubber gloves and eye protection should be worn during
application
• IF IN GESTED: Drink 1 to 2 glasses of water
• EYE AND SKIN CONT ACT: Flush with water
• If irritation persists, seek medical attention.
