DESCRIPTION
A white polymer modified cement-based adhesive with non-shrink and non-slip/slump properties.
USES
A thick or thin bed adhesive that can be used to fix absorbent, non-absorbent tiles internally, externally on
floors and walls to concrete, cement render, screeds, block, brick, building boards (gypsum and cement).
Construction Chemicals approved waterproofing membrane and compressed cement sheet and tile underlay.

SPECIFICATION
The ceramic tile adhesive will be a white polymer modified cement based with non-slip/slump and non-shrink
properties and have a minimum bond of 1.7 Mpa such as DRYMASTIC manufactured by Construction
Chemicals and shall be applied strictly in accordance with the manufacturers instruction.
SURFACE PREPARATION
All substrates must be structurally sound, firm and clean of dust, waxes, paint, curing compounds and all other
contaminants. Screeds/renders must be finished with a wood float and cured (concrete 6 weeks, render and
screed 7 days). Smooth surfaces must be mechanically abraded and primed with PRIMAX. Porous surfaces and
building boards to be primed with PRIMER AND GROUT ADDITIVE.
MIXING
Mix with clean water using 3 litres to 10 kg.
Add the powder to the water while mixing with a slow speed electric drill to obtain a lump-free creamy
consistency.Adjust mix to suit users preference. Pot life is approximately 2 hours. Allow to stand for 5 minutes
and re-stir before use.
APPLICATION
Tiling must be done in accordance with AS4992. Movement joints (5mm) to be at 5 metre grids, corners and
room perimeters are filled with COLOUR SEAL or sealant. Apply the adhesive with a notched trowel (6mm for
walls and 10 or 12mm for floors), the finished bed thickness must be 2-3 mm to accommodate movement.
Spread about 1m2 at a time.Tiles must be set in place while the adhesive is still wet on the surface. Press the
tiles firmly into the adhesive using a twisting motion.Tiles must be firmly bedded into the adhesive so no voids
occur beneath the tiles.
GROUTING
Grout after adhesive has set for 24 hours.
Use KEMGROUT mixed with PRIMER AND GROUT ADDITIV for greater durability.
PRECAUTIONS
• Do not use in immersed applications or to bond moisture sensitive tiles.
• Apply adhesive at temperatures from 10-35oC
• Do not let the adhesive dry on the tile surface, remove while wet with a damp cloth or sponge
