Bis-Flex - Flexible, rubber crumb based, rapid setting tile adhesive-Technical Data Sheet.
Bis-Flex is a specially prepared cement based tile adhesive, which requires the addition of Bis-Flex liquid, for use as a thick and thin bed adhesive, for internal and external floor tiling. Bis-Flex tile adhesive may be used for fixing ceramic, fully vitrified and natural floor tiles, terrazzo tiles and slabs, and concrete tiles.
Bis-Flex tile adhesive is suitable for use on correctly prepared floorboards, waterproof grade plywood and some composite boards.
Bis-Flex is a two part system and has a higher flexural strength making it able to withstand larger flexural strengths than a standard cementitious tile adhesive.
Bis-Flex tile adhesive should always be mixed in the correct proportions of 1 bag of Bis-Flex powder (7.5 Kg) to 1 bottle of Bis-Flex liquid (5 litre). Once mixed Bis-flex has an open time of approximately 20-30 minutes and tiling can be light foot trafficked or grouted after approximately 3 hours.
Quality and Standards
Bis-Flex tile adhesive conforms to:
* BS 5980 Type 1 Class AA, adhesives for use with Ceramic Tiles and Mosaics.
* BS 5385 : 1986 - code of Practice for Wall and Floor Tiling Par 4 - Ceramic Tiling and Mosaics in specific conditions.
Bis-Flex tile adhesive is manufactured under a BSI approved quality system to EN ISO 9002.
Features
* Flexible: Can be used on floating floors, tongue & groove plywood overlay and solid wooden floors where higher flexural stresses and lateral movement may occur.
* Rapid Setting: can be grouted after only 3 hours.
* Has exceptional adhesion and can be used with all forms of low permeability tiles.
* Light Weight
* Water & Frost resistant
Open Time 20-30 minutes
Setting Time 3 hours

Useful Information
One 7.5 Kg bag correctly mixed with one 5 Kg bottle will cover approximately 3-4 square metres when applied at a thickness of 3-4 mm.
Mixing with a mechanical mixer and paddle will improve the process and produce a workable material.
When grouting always use Biscem Grout Additive in the grout to give a comparative increase in flexural strength.
