701 EPOXY ADHESIVE - 2-component epoxy adhesive for wall and floor tiles.
Basis
2-Component epoxy-based tile adhesive, containing a resin component and a liquid hardener.
Colour Light grey.
Product advantages:
* Acid-resistant
* Heat-resistant
* Water-resistant
* For in- and outdoor use
* High initial adhesion strength
* Suitable for almost all subfloors
* High final bond strength
Specific weight 1.80 g/ml.
Spreading capacity 2-5 kg/m©÷, depending on the smoothness of the subfloor and type of tile.
Final bond strength Very high. Tested in accordance with NEN EN 12004.
Ageing 701 Epoxy Adhesive does not deteriorate with age.
Warmth resistant Until 80¡Æ C.
Flammability Non-flammable.
For the acid- and heat-resistant fixing of ceramic wall and floor tiles on draining boards, laboratory tables, industrial floors that will be affected by chemicals etc. Also very suitable for extreme moist areas, such as sanitary areas, professional kitchens and swimming pools. Also suitable for all heavy affected floors, on which a cement-based tile adhesive is too risky.
Mixing ratio Mix the resin and hardener components completely together. Or 4 parts of resin to 1 part of hardener.
Working
temperature From 15° to 25° C (surrounding and subfloor temperature). For the working qualities the optimal working temperature is 20° C. After fixing the temperature should be > 12° C for at least 48 hours.
Waiting time None. Apply 701 Epoxy Adhesive immediately after mixing.
Working time At a temperature of approx. 20° C, apply the mixed adhesive within 90 minutes. Higher temperatures will abbreviated the working time; lower temperatures will lengthen the working time.
Consistency Thick liquid, after mixing of the resin and hardener components.
Drying time Drying to a tension-free adhesive takes place in approx. 16 hours through a chemical reaction. After 7 days the adhesive is completely chemical-proof.
Storage Store free from frost. Protect against high temperatures. By storage at 15° C the packaging should be 20° C before mixing.
Shelf life
12 Months, in unopened packaging.
Attention It is recommended to wear gloves and safety glasses during application.
Directions for use:
- The subfloor has to be clean, free from grease and dust, dry and have a good tensile and compression strength, according to the requirements of DIN 18 352.
- If necessary prime the subfloor with 021 Euroblock Reno.
- It is recommended to wear rubber gloves during application. In case of skin contact rinse immediately with water and soap.
- Add the resin and hardener components together or add 4 parts of resin to 1 part of hardener and mix for 3-4 minutes, by using an electric stirrer, to a smooth and homogeneous mixture. Take care that insufficient mixing can cause permanent sticky parts in the adhesive, which will not bond completely.
- Make adhesive strips with the recommended adhesive spreader.
- Place the tiles within 10-15 minutes with a shuffling movement into the adhesive and press firmly. Check regularly if there is sufficient adhesive transport on the back of the tiles. Remove excess adhesive from the joints.
- At a temperature of 20° C, the joints can be filled after 1-2 days, depending on the circumstances.
- Apply the adhesive with 90 minutes.
- In advance always seek our technical data sheets. In doubt about the application ask for technical advice.
Packaging:
5 kg Combi Pack (comp. A 3.9 kg and comp. B 1.1 kg).
Spreading capacity/notched spreader:
The smoothness of the subfloor and type of tile are determining for the adhesive spreader to be used. For walls inside a minimum adhesive transport of 60% is required (divided over the back of the tile). For tiles on facades a minimum adhesive transport of 80% is required (divided over the back of the tile).
