Johnson Tiles UK used in High Fashion Stores.
The new Ben Sherman store which opened in Cologne recently, uses wall and floor tiles supplied by Johnson Tiles in the main retail areas of the store. The store opened at the end of 2008 and is based on the Ben Sherman Retail concept of ‘Mods in the mansion'. It features Johnson Tiles products including Artile panels, Prismatics wall tiles and Kerastar floor tiles. The Artile panels were designed by the stores interior designers in keeping with the ‘Mods in the mansion' theme of the store. The panels are created using 100x100mm tiles displaying images relevant to the Mod era, for example a photograph of the musician Paul Weller. The tiles were manufactured at Johnson Tiles factory in Stoke on Trent England. Wall tiles used in the store include 100x100mm Prismatics PRS13 a black satin finish wall tile and the orange PRG 55 called Pumpkin which give a dramatic effect to the store contrasting black with the brighter orange as a backdrop to the clothing and accessory ranges. Kerastar 300 x 300mm porcelain tiles were used on the floor in a checkerboard design and were set alongside wood flooring panels giving a mix of surface colour and texture in keeping with the modern design of the store. Following on from the success of the store Ben Sherman also opened a store in Berlin in April 2009, again featuring product from Johnson Tiles in keeping with their new corporate store design. In Berlin, the Kerastar floor tiles used were 500 x 500mm tiles once again in a checkerboard design.
